The characters are so real. Twenty-four year old Phoebe Hawley is on a quest to find her family a home. On the road with two siblings, twelve year-old Maydean and five year-old Willie-Boy, Phoebe is out of money, out of gas and out of patience. Now the only things she owns in abundance are Hawley backbone and Hawley pride—neither of which she can trade for food or gas. Gage Morgan has a bruised ego, a tight fist on his land and an iron fist on his heart and is the unlikeliest man in the universe to succumb to her schemes.

Phoebe wields all of the pride, backbone and country smarts she owns to claim his home, plow his land and pilfer his heart. With time running against her family, she plies one last inducement—her scarce feminine wiles… Will it be enough? Get Finding Home as an Audible audio edition! In truth, a back story is only essential for character development. Yet, back stories are the very essence of a character. Her people came from England—many were runaway indentured servants from the colony General Oglethorpe brought to Georgia.

For over two hundred years her ancestors existed as a secluded tribe of swamp people. The swamp settlers were wild, wary, witty, fiercely independent and shrewd. They hunted and trapped every wild creature from deer, bear and wild boar to feed and clothe themselves. They fished, grew their own food and herbs, spun their own cotton, tanned leather for shoes, and carved canoes to navigate the swamp. Excursions to the outside world were few and only to sell alligator hides and trade that cash for sugar, flour, salt, kerosene and perhaps a bolt of sturdy denim or sewing needles.

Isolated deep within the Okefenokee, two-hundred years of progress, wars, and the Great Depression passed them by until , when Roosevelt, gearing up for war and needing wood from the massive swamp forests of cypress and pine, forced the people out. And here, for the first time, the former swamp women came into their own.

Airos is the third book in the Finding Home series. The goal of their world is to maintain a simple life in peace. However, the menacing leader of the dragon clan wishes to eradicate the entire vampire species. The plot is a mixture of secrets, treachery, jealousy, conflict with a touch of intimacy. The characters are believable. Because of his belligerent personality, Zane is only tolerated by most of the coven.

When Zane realizes how his friend feels, as well as the fact that Bo is his mate, he endeavors to reject the bond plus distance himself from all emotional involvements. Bo is a smart considerate man. Also, being much smaller than the warrior dragons, he realized he could not win in a fight, so Bo learned to rely on his wits to avoid conflicts. Bo has been kept in the dark by his older brother for most of his life regarding their ancestry.

The secrets were an act of brotherly love as a means of protection for them both. Bo recognized a bonding had occurred with Zane, yet he was unsure if the bond could be broken given that Zane refused to acknowledge they are mates. There is still a traitor as well as an evil leader that must be dealt with.

Jennifer Wright has created an incredibly emotional action filled saga that I enjoyed immensely.

I recommend that this series be read in order to fully appreciate the characters and their stories. What happens when Zane meets a dragon?

Finding Home

Zane did not have the easiest life in the coven but to him it was home! Then one day everything changes in his life as a man he meets throws Zane's life upside down and reveals a secret love that even confuses his life even further. Zane is now torn between two men who are engulfing his every thought and now finding out that his mother is in severe danger, is more than he can handle. The Draguns leader is trying to take everything away from Zane! His BFF is moving further and further away from him and a young dragon is getting to close for comfort.

Now Zane has to figure out what he actually wants in life. Boer is a dragon and kidnapped by the vampires to reveal secrets which he apparently doesn't have and this changes everything in Zane's organized life.

Finding Home: Ann Vaughn: Books

Now that his bff Larken is in love with him and his mate Bo is too much for the emotionally disconnected Zane to deal with so he plans to distance himself emotionally in order to handle everything that is being thrown his way. I loved this novel so much so that the author had me on the edge of my seat through the entire novel.

I couldn't predict what was about to happen next and that is a great quality in writing. Jennifer's writing is simply brilliant and how she comes up with these stories, characters, realms and unique worlds in this fascinating genre. I recommend this novel, Airos and the series Finding Home by Jennifer Wright! One person found this helpful.
